Can I just turn it down on an amp? I live in an apartment surrended by neighbours. Id prefer not to spend more than 400€ for now as its going to be my very first amp and guitar.Īlso maybe a really stupid question but its kinda important to me is the volume. Maybe somene has a few recommendations for me. I know almost nothing about amps yet and kinda dont know what Im looking for in an amp to achieve metal sound. If thats true, does it matter which one of those two I get? Ive heard that Humbucker is generally better for metal but Ive also heard that the tone of the guitar itself kinda doesnt matter because it is mainly affected by the amp. So Im planing on getting my first eguitar and I want to play in the Rock/Metal genre. Im a bit confused by all the myths and tone gurus. Also apparently they sound good in both positions. So maybe if i split them they won't feel so gutted. The second pickups i was considering was the DiMarzio DP 104 Super 2 because they're high output and still really bright and mid rangy.
Single coil vs humbucker sound mod#
so figured that the mod will just further enhance the chance of having a single coil type of sound. I was considering Two Seymour Duncan SH-JB Hot Rodded Humbucker because they're really bright and articulate even without the mod. ( idon't know if there any downsides to this method tho) I heard that changing to parallel/series gives you the noise canceling and hotter a output.

(and sometimes they sound anemic) but it can work really well with high output pickups I heard that splitting them gives you less output and removes the noise canceling. I don't really know if it's better to split coil them or to make a Parallel/Series switch to them.

I know it won't be like the real deal, but for recording purposes it will give more versatility and some kind of multiple gain stages. Im trying to kinda emulate the sparkle of the single coils. I planning on upgrading pickups and i was considering adding a mod to the wiring to have, cleaner, more articulate tones from them.
